Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series Resumes This Weekend at Brighton Speedway With the $5000 to Win Great Crate Race

After a two month hiatus as weekly tracks completed their 2012 regular season, the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series is back with a vengeance this coming weekend with the second annual Great Crate Race at Brighton Speedway.  The $5000 to win event will also post a total purse worth more then $20000 and will draw cars from Central and Northern New York State, Ontario, and possibly even Pennsylvania and Ohio.

20 Crate Late Model cars attended the first race of the Series at Mohawk International Raceway in early July, and the numbers will surely be higher with such a lucrative purse on the line. Last year’s race winner at the Great Crate Race and 2011 Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series champion Lee Gill has moved on to another division, leaving the door wide open for a new series champion.  Dale Caswell won the opening race of 2012 at Mohawk.

“We are really looking forward to bringing the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series to Brighton Speedway this weekend”, says series organizer and competitor Shayne Tenace.  “We had a solid field at our first race and we hope to draw a huge turnout at Brighton”.

Following the Great Crate Race this weekend at Brighton, the Go Nuclear Late Model Challenge Series will be back in action the following weekend at Mohawk International Raceway on both Friday, September 14th and Saturday, September 15th.  The 2012 season will conclude at Brockville Ontario Speedway on Friday, October 12th as part of the 1000 Islands RV Centre DIRTcar Northeast Fall Nationals.

In addition to the full weekend of events at Mohawk Raceway on September 14th and 15th, the first annual Mohawk Nationals Horseshoe Tournament will take place on the Saturday at 1am.  The tournament is open to all race team members from any participating division that weekend.  The tournament winners will receive $50 and a trophy.

The inaugural episode of the Atomic Power Racing Hour made its debut on Time Warner Television in New York State late last month.  Each and every race on the Go Nuclear Schedule will have a televised event this season.  The first episode is now available on the Go Nuclear Late Model Series website by clicking on the link to the Atomic Power Racing Hour.
